Dedicated to my Mommy, the strongest, most amazing woman I have ever known.  Thank you for inspiring me to continue every day.

Womanhood is both beautiful and inescapably demanding. Our bodies are a sight of constant scrutiny, change, and objectification. There are many uncomfortable and tough topics to discuss in regards to being a woman, but there are many beautiful things to showcase as well. Throughout my many months of thesis research I have studied how design can be used as a tool to create a reflective and immersive environment to portray the beautiful yet demanding nature of womanhood in modern society. Eventually, I landed on the idea to create a magazine: Vaulted.

The name Vaulted is meant to symbolize the metaphorical nature of our true divinity and potential being “locked away” because of how patriarchal society has shaped the narrative. Conversely, Vaulted also symbolizes the idea of an open, grand, and beautiful focal point to make a statement. To represent both of these ideas, the magazine features a range of articles including those celebrating the significance of women’s contributions to the world, as well as articles acknowledging the hardships of womanhood in a society that was not built to uplift us.
